Following several summer seasons in Spiegelworld’s popular spiegeltent in New York City and a four-year residency in the forecourt of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Spiegelworld and Nine Live are bringing their smash-hit show Absinthe to Melbourne starting March 27th until April 26th.

Inspired by the absinthe-drenched cabarets of late-19th century Europe, Absinthe is an adult-themed cocktail of circus, burlesque and vaudeville for a 21st century audience, hosted by the outrageous Gazillionaire and his sidekick Penny.

Discount prices are available for many preview shows on the opening week, Wednesday 26 March – Sunday 30 March, as well as select days throughout the Festival. Check the calendar on each show page for the orange dot showing which performances have preview prices.

Tickets as low as $10!

2. GO ON TIGHTARSE TUESDAY

Discount prices are available for most shows across the Festival on Tuesdays.

3. TAKE A GROUP

Many shows have discount prices available for group bookings. Group size can vary from 3 or more (depending on the show).

4. SHOW A VALID CONCESSION

Concession prices apply to full-time students (26 years and under), full pensioners, Senior Card holders, the unemployed and children under 16 years. Proof of eligibility is required. Concession prices may not be available for some performances.

5. BUY A LAUGH PACK

Book and pay for three different eligible shows at the same time and get a discounted price for all shows. Only available for shows on sale through Ticketmaster. Bookings must be made by phone, or in person at any Ticketmaster outlet and at the Comedy Festival Box Office at Melbourne Town Hall and Trades Hall.

The 2014 season also brings about a totally new Engine design with the switch over to a Turbo Charged V6 engine. What does that mean? A totally different sound!

While we are huge fan of Turbo Charged cars, the current sound of the New F1 engine leaves not much to be desired. Regardless it will be a good drama filled race which is what the Melbourne track is known for due to being the First race of the season.

The Melbourne F1 is also the first we will see of Aussie Daniel Ricciardo and will definitely have a local crowd cheering him on in his first Race with team Red Bull having replaced fellow Aussie Mark Webber.

Apollo Bay Music Festival – Date: Feb 28th- March 2nd

The Apollo Bay Music Festival’s is firmly on the map as a major annual tourist and community event for Apollo Bay and a significant Festival for Victoria. Over the years it has also established itself as a highly regarded Festival throughout Australia and on the international circuit.

White Night Melbourne – http://whitenightmelbourne.com.au/ Date: Feb 22nd 7pm-7am

Visitors can participate in an urban adventure of exhibitions, street performances, fashion, lighting installations, film screenings, multimedia projections, concerts, dance and interactive events around Swantson street, Federation Square & St Kilda rd areas. Great for families & children too. In 2013, we drove people around to see all the lights.

Lonsdale Street Festival – Feb 8th & 9th

The Lonsdale Street Festival, which is staged in the heart of the City of Melbourne’s Greek Precinct, attracts over 100,000 people across the weekend, who head to the street to enjoy two stages of free entertainment, an assortment of food stalls, children’s activities, cooking demonstrations and trader displays. 

Chinese New Year Dragon Boat Races – Date:  Sunday Feb 9th at World Trade Center siddley st Docklands

A sport originating from southern China over 2500 years ago, Dragon Boat Racing is now the fastest growing team sport in the world. Though the activity has evolved somewhat since its inception, Dragon Boats Victoria continues to celebrate the rich history of the sport with events such as the Chinese New Year Dragon Boat event.

Reminiscent of ancient Chinese ceremonial traditions, Bright Moon Buddhist Monks will be performing a traditional dotting of the Dragon’s Eyes at 9.30am and at 12.30pm a Lion Dance display will dazzle visitors with color, sound and movement.

 Meanwhile, on the iconic Yarra River, fully loaded dragon boats weighing up to two and half tonnes and powered by 20 determined paddlers will battle it out for the coveted Chinese New Year Dragon Boat Cup.

King Kong – A TIMELESS LOVE STORY. AN EPIC MUSIC THEATRE EVENT. KING KONG will bring to life one of the most technologically advanced puppets in the world a – one-tonne, six-metre tall silverback gorilla.

Grease The Musical – We’ve all seen the movie, now see the musical in person. Starting in Feb until March 2014 get ready for the party!
